Remote Sensing
REMOTE SENSING of environmental and meteorological data has become a new feasibility with the availability of faster computers and better scientific understanding of the methodologies applied.
These new and non-intrusive methods of measurement, detection and recording are providing a unique opportunity to receive full measurement information without interfering into processes, movements and natural situations. Remote sensing provides the possibility to measure toxic gases over long distances, perimeter/fence line monitoring around industrial plants for safety applications, meteorological data gathering from high altitudes and big areas.
By forming a separate Remote Sensing Department in 1995, EAS Envimet was among the first companies in Europe to recognize the growing importance of these new technologies and their implication on the every day life of the data acquisition engineers and scientists.
Remote Sensing is applied in Motor Vehicle Emissions Monitoring (RSD4000 Accuscan), Air Quality Monitoring (DOAS), Lightning Detection (SAFIR) and Wind Profiling (SODAR).
