Vehicle Emissions Sensing
Environmental Systems Products Inc.'s (ESP) Remote Sensing RSD-4000 is a unique tool to remotely measure motor vehicle exhausts of passenger cars and/or trucks unobtrusively and without interfering with the overall traffic flow. The RSD applies both an infra-red (IR) and an ultra-violet (UV) light beam to measure absorbing gas species such as CO, CO2, NO, HC and opacity of the exhaust gas of vehicles passing through the set up system.
Within less than one second (!) the system not only provides measurement data of all the above gases and opacity but also provides the operator with a full picture identification of the passing car (automatic license plate reader optionally available), speed and acceleration/deceleration of the vehicle.
The RSD has been developed in an effort to complement the growing number of regulations and directives aiming at providing measurement data from vehicles under real-life load situations rather than test type idle operation levels. Development work with the leading scientific institutions in Europe have resulted in an unrivalled instrument of unsurpassed versatility
